As part of the “Model Senior” program, a radio spot was recorded. It was developed by the Provincial Police Headquarters in cooperation with the Capitol Musical Theatre in Wrocław.

Professional actors and a voice-over artist lent their voices to the spot. The musical backing was arranged and recorded by a musician from the Wrocław theatre.

Police:

Unfortunately, criminals are still trying to lull seniors into a false sense of security and defraud them. During telephone calls, they often pose as a close family member, such as a grandchild, nephew, cousin or sister’s/nephew’s child. They present an invented story and ask for money. They always send an accomplice to collect it, who picks up the cash at the agreed place and time.

They patiently wait if the cash is to be withdrawn from a bank. To make a stronger impression, scammers are also increasingly impersonating officials or representatives of an organisation or institution.

They also convince older people that they are officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation or police officers.

The uniformed officers emphasise:

The situations described above may happen to our relatives or neighbours. Therefore, it is essential to awaken family and neighbourhood vigilance in order to increase the safety of older and lonely people.
