The competition aims to recognize police officers distinguished by exceptional professionalism, empathy and skills in providing individual assistance to people affected by domestic violence.
The competition has been held continuously since 2008. Eleven editions have already taken place, during which 55 winners deserving special recognition—in the opinion of the public—were selected. They included officers representing both preventive and criminal services.
The 12th edition of the competition is held under the honorary patronage of the Chief Commander of the Police, while the award ceremony itself will form part of the central celebrations of Police Day.
