On Sunday, May 17, the Bolesławiec police carried out the “Speed” operation. Its aim is to improve road safety in the city and county. Officers recorded nearly 160 cases of exceeding the speed limit (78 were registered by a speed camera), inspected nearly 100 vehicles and issued more than 80 penalty fines.
The police remind drivers that excessive speed is one of the most common causes of road accidents. In 2007, 22 people died and 93 were injured on the roads of Bolesławiec County. Last year, 19 people died and 103 were injured as a result of road incidents.
