Officers from the Prevention Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters, while patrolling one of the city’s streets, noticed a vehicle whose driver sharply accelerated upon seeing the police car and then turned onto a dirt road.

The officers tried to stop the driver using light and sound signals. However, he did not respond.

At one point, he drove onto a road from which he was unable to get out, so he began fleeing on foot. He was detained after a brief pursuit.

The fugitive turned out to be a 31-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. The suspect was driving a vehicle without a valid technical inspection or mandatory insurance.

He now faces up to five years in prison.
