The recurring training, conducted as part of the pilot programme “Military Education”, included lessons in tactics, terrain navigation and physical education, during which the students practised hand-to-hand combat techniques.

After discussing safety conditions and introducing the tactical situation, the teams learned how to cross terrain while observing the principles of movement security, what to do after detecting an improvised explosive device, and how to act in situations involving threats and contact with enemy fire.

After completing a specified section of the route, the military instructors assigned additional tactical tasks that the students from the military classes had to solve as a team, demonstrating their ability to assess situations quickly and react swiftly to indicated threats.

During the next part of the training, the students improved their ability to use a compass and determine their position and directions for orientation.

Sharing their experience, the soldiers taught the students how to adapt their actions in practice to the prevailing conditions and make maximum use of various natural features as landmarks.

The training concluded with instruction in selected hand-to-hand combat techniques. Under the supervision of military instructors, the students learned close-quarters combat techniques and acquired the skills needed to behave appropriately in dangerous situations. The subjects covered included combat stances, defence against attacks, kicks and fighting with the use of a rifle.

During the full-day training, the instructors gave the students knowledge that will make it easier for them to absorb the material and subjects taught at school. Supplementing classroom knowledge with practical activities at the military unit provides an opportunity to verify existing skills and obtain answers to the questions of greatest concern about a soldier’s profession.
