The incident took place on 17 March in the afternoon in Bolesławiec. Traffic police stopped a vehicle for inspection that was travelling at 117 km/h in a built-up area.

The driver was found to be a 25-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. The woman lost her driving licence for three months and received a PLN 500 fine and 10 penalty points.

Police:

Statistics show that excessive speed is the cause of many tragic road incidents.

The officers add:

We remind you that, under the applicable regulations, every road user who exceeds the speed limit in a built-up area by at least 50 km/h will lose their driving licence for three months. The document is taken directly by the police officer conducting the inspection.

If, despite the ban, such a person continues to drive, the period for which their driving entitlement is withdrawn will be extended to six months.

If the situation happens again during that period, the county governor will issue a decision revoking the driving entitlement. This will mean having to retake the driving test.
