Officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 27-year-old Czech citizen suspected, among other things, of possessing drugs and illegally possessing a firearm. What is more, the Czech man is also suspected of driving a vehicle under the influence of intoxicants.

The arrest took place on 15 March at approximately 11:00 a.m. At the request of the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters, officers went to Jana Pawła II Street, where a drunk or drugged Volvo driver with Czech registration plates was reportedly located. (The Czech man was driving erratically.)

During the inspection, the man behaved nervously and gave another person’s details. It turned out that he had drugs: amphetamine and liquid heroin in two syringes.

Moreover, the driver’s behaviour indicated that he himself might have been under the influence of intoxicants. (In addition, the man possessed a gas gun without the required permit.)

The 27-year-old was first taken to police custody. Then, at the prosecutor’s request, the court remanded the Czech man in temporary custody for three months. The foreign national faces up to eight years in prison.
