A fatal accident occurred on Thursday, March 14, on the link road connecting National Road No. 30 with the A4 motorway in Zgorzelec.
According to the officers’ preliminary findings, the driver of a DAF truck with a trailer, while entering the motorway, failed to yield to a Volkswagen driver who was travelling correctly. The vehicles collided.
The passenger car’s driver and passenger died at the scene. It is likely that neither of them was wearing a seat belt.
The police and the prosecutor’s office are investigating the causes of the tragedy. Investigators appeal for caution on the road.
