Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters detained a man suspected of attempting to break into and steal from an ATM, as well as four other offences. (The incident took place in central Bolesławiec on the night of March 10–11.)

When a police patrol arrived at the scene, the perpetrators began fleeing in two vehicles. One of them was a farm tractor, which hit a building while being driven. The tractor driver continued fleeing on foot. He was detained following a pursuit.

The police officers found a weapon and amphetamine on the detained man. It turned out that the tractor used to commit the offence had been stolen several days earlier in Polkowice County. (The recovered vehicle has already been returned to its owner.)

The 39-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was charged with five offences. He will be held responsible for attempted burglary, possession of a weapon and narcotic drugs, receiving a vehicle obtained through crime, and fleeing from police officers. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

The court remanded the detained man in custody for three months.
