On 8 March, the male military community has a special opportunity to thank the “women in uniform” for their service alongside them and for taking on the challenges it entails.

From positions such as driver or gunner in the crew of a launcher or self-propelled howitzer to section chief in staff cells, they share the hardships of the military profession with men.

For years now, seeing a woman in uniform at the 23rd Artillery Regiment has surprised no one. Sometimes unnoticed amid the maze of daily tasks and duties, they are always appreciated for their commitment and training results.

Women’s Day, celebrated on 8 March, provides an opportunity for superiors, colleagues and co-workers to thank them for their achievements and for sharing the hardships of their service.

During the meeting, the “female soldiers” and Ministry of National Defence employees received wishes from the regiment commander, Col. Grzegorz Potrzuski, and from their superiors. The commander’s presentation of a rose to each of the women was a symbolic expression of appreciation.

Col. Potrzuski:

On this special day, I wish you that every day of your service and work brings a sense of professional fulfilment, personal satisfaction and recognition from your colleagues. Thank you for your good service and work, for the dedication and commitment I see every day.

The meeting ended with conversation over coffee and cake.
