Criminal investigators identified and arrested a 19-year-old man suspected of robbery theft and shoplifting.

According to investigators, the first incident took place several days ago in one of the clothing stores in Jelenia Góra. The man stole two hats worth PLN 76, and when a security guard tried to take them back, a struggle broke out. The thief managed to escape with the loot.

Police began searching for the man suspected of the offence. Based on the information gathered in the case and surveillance footage, they identified a 19-year-old from Jelenia Góra.

It turned out that the teenager had several shoplifting offences on his record, committed between 27 November and 12 December. (His loot included cosmetics, alcohol and clothing.)

The young man will face charges including robbery theft. At the prosecutor’s request, the court remanded the 19-year-old in temporary custody for two months.

He now faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
