Police officers from the Bolesławiec traffic unit, while patrolling one of the regional roads, stopped a vehicle driven by a resident of Gromadka municipality for inspection.
It turned out that a 28-year-old man was behind the wheel. In July, the Lubin court had imposed a lifetime ban on him from driving any motor vehicles.
The man, who under the law was never again supposed to drive any vehicle, explained to the officers that it was the “last time”.
Interestingly, it emerged that there was no one to replace the driver behind the wheel. The 28-year-old was travelling with a passenger who did not have a driving licence at all—and with another person subject to a court-ordered driving ban.
The man now faces up to five years in prison.
