The victim had arranged to meet someone who contacted him online about a possible purchase of a mobile phone. The men met in the center of Jelenia Góra to complete the transaction.
At one point, the alleged buyer said that he had to withdraw money from an ATM. He walked away, only to return a moment later with... a hammer.
He began hitting the seller on the head with the tool. Passers-by noticed what was happening and helped the victim overpower the attacker.
The police were notified. They arrested the attacker.
The 27-year-old could now face up to 15 years in prison.
