Gminny Ośrodek Kultury i Sportu w Osiecznicy and IstotneInformacje.pl invite you to the 3rd Lower Silesian Athletics Meeting for Primary and Secondary Schools with a military profile, which will be held on Tuesday, 21 April, at the stadium of the school complex in Świętoszów. More than 350 competitors from 14 Lower Silesian schools took part in the previous edition of the event.
This year’s meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. Nearly 400 young athletes have already announced their participation in Tuesday’s competition (from Osiecznica, Ławszowa, Tomisław, Parowa, Nowa Wieś, Imbramowice, Bogatynia, Świętoszów, Zgorzelec, Parowa, Złotoryja, Brzeźnik, Lubań and Bolesławiec). Primary and secondary school students will compete in the following events: 60-metre sprint, 60-metre hurdles, 600-metre run, long jump, high jump and backward medicine-ball throw.
Additional attractions at this year’s meeting will include military events and tests, as well as a display of equipment from the 62nd Special Company “Commando”. Participants will also have the opportunity to tour the barracks in Świętoszów.
At 4:30 p.m., a press conference will be held at Kliczków Castle with the participation of: Moniki Kumosz, director of Gminny Ośrodek Kultury i Sportu w Osiecznicy, Piotra Rysiukiewicza, president of the Lower Silesian Athletics Association, Pawła Olszańskiego, head of training at the Lower Silesian Sports Federation and vice-president of DZLA, Pawła Januszewskiego, member of the Board of the Polish Athletics Association, Piotra Małachowskiego, silver medalist at the Beijing Olympic Games, as well as Bartosza Grumana, Tomasza Markowskiego and Justyny Serafińskiej from MKS Bolesłavia.
The main sponsor of the competition is Gmina Osiecznica. The event is held under the patronage of the Lower Silesian Athletics Association, MKS Bolesłavia, Kliczków Castle, the Ministry of National Defence and the Association of 62 KS Commando. The event’s media patron is IstotneInformacje.pl.
