Bolesławiec police officers detained 3 intoxicated drivers over the past weekend. The first, a 48-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, was caught by officers in Iwiny. The man got behind the wheel with more than 3‰ alcohol in his exhaled breath.
Two more drunk drivers were detained in Godzieszów (Nowogrodziec commune), on national road no. 94.
A 41-year-old resident of Zgorzelec got behind the wheel with 1‰ alcohol in his system. He must have had quite a fast metabolism, because he claimed that he had drunk half a litre of vodka an hour earlier.
Meanwhile, a 34-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County was driving with 0.6‰ alcohol in his system. But that was not the worst of it. It turned out that the man was subject to two court-ordered driving bans.
The 34-year-old could face up to 5 years in prison. The other two drivers could be jailed for up to two years.
