Police officers in Bolesławiec regularly receive reports of wallets being stolen from cars. Thieves simply take advantage of the opportunity because victims... forget to lock their vehicles. What is more, they leave wallets in places visible to criminals.
What should you do when parking your car, even for just a moment?
- check that all the windows are fully closed and the boot is locked
- switch on the alarm and any other security devices you have
- luggage, such as bags, backpacks, briefcases and other items, should be kept in compartments or the boot; leaving them in view will encourage thieves (this also applies to shopping left in cars outside shops)
- when leaving the car, put the keys in an inside pocket of your clothing, and at home keep them in a safe place (away from the entrance door)
- never leave vehicle documents inside the car
- when parking on your property or in a garage, do not open the gate after leaving the car with the keys in the ignition.
