The duty officer at the Police Station in Bogatynia was notified of the theft of a cash box containing money. The incident occurred at one of the food establishments in Bogatynia Municipality.
Bogatynia detectives immediately went to the scene. They determined that at around 2:30 p.m., a man entered the establishment, ordered lunch and sat at a table. After several minutes, taking advantage of the bar employee’s inattention, he took the cash box from under the counter and left.
The 40-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County was detained. He had already thrown away the aforementioned cash box, but the officers managed to recover some of the stolen money.
The man has already been charged with theft. He admitted his guilt. He now faces up to five years in prison.
