Officers from the patrol and intervention unit of the Zgorzelec County Police Headquarters arrested an 18-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County. The teenager is suspected of numerous break-ins at garden allotment cottages in the city.
The perpetrator’s arrest was helped by the owner of one of the cottages, who noticed a young man on the path carrying a large number of gardening tools. The gardener found this suspicious and called the police.
The officers who arrived at the scene determined that the items the teenager had with him came from break-ins at garden allotment cottages.
What is more, the 18-year-old is known to Zgorzelec police officers because he already has property thefts on his record. The serial burglar could now face up to 10 years in prison.
