The incident occurred on Tuesday, 4 September, before 11:00 a.m., near Bolesławiec’s new skate park (the so-called Wiadukt Plaza). The 88-year-old woman from Jelenia Góra, who was ill and walked with a crutch, came to Bolesławiec because she collects and sells sorrel here.
The elderly woman brought a wheeled bag with her. She left it and went to pick sorrel. At one point, an unidentified man approached the unattended bag. The woman from Jelenia Góra shouted at him, and the suspect walked away.
The injured woman then looked inside her bag. Unfortunately, it turned out that before fleeing, the man had managed to steal her documents and approximately PLN 30.
Police are taking steps to apprehend the thief. He may face up to two years in prison.
