In Bolesławiec, several snatch thefts took place. A cyclist watched elderly women walking along the street, rode up to them, snatched their handbags from their hands and rode away. The elderly women lost, among other things, wallets containing money and payment cards, documents, mobile phones and keys.

Within three days, the thief robbed four people in this way. (The suspect's image was recorded by cameras).

Officers determined that all the thefts were committed by an 18-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. Arresting the suspect was not easy, because when he noticed the police officers, he began to flee. He then attempted to resist. Without success. The teenage thief was arrested.

Moreover, it emerged that the young thief was wanted not only by the police. He had failed to return to the juvenile detention center by the appointed deadline. (He had been on temporary release).

The man was taken to the juvenile detention center, where he will spend the next several months. What is more, he could now face an additional sentence of up to five years in prison. If it turns out that he used the payment cards stolen from the elderly women, the 18-year-old could be imprisoned for as many as ten years.

(The losses caused by the 18-year-old's actions amount to nearly PLN 2,000).
