On Monday, August 6, officers from the Prevention Department of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters stopped a cyclist for a check. They had passed him several times in the town during a night patrol . The cyclist turned out to be a 22-year-old who already had thefts on his record. (Two days earlier, he had been detained and dealt with for them.)
The young man was behaving nervously. It came to light that he was carrying containers of stolen fuel and a screwdriver in his backpack, which he used to overcome security measures.
According to the officers’ findings, the thefts occurred near the town marketplace, where passenger cars and trucks had been parked. In total, the 22-year-old stole 80 litres of fuel. (Value: approximately PLN 400.)
The suspect could now face up to 10 years in prison.
