On Tuesday, July 24, the Bolesławiec District Court issued a decision in the case of a 40-year-old man from the village of Dobra (Bolesławiec municipality). The man was charged with 8 offenses and was placed in temporary custody for 3 months. He will face charges including property damage, drunk driving and an active assault on a police officer.

Let us recall. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 21, after 7:00 p.m., on Ptasia Street in Bolesławiec. During a police pursuit, one of the suspects hit an officer with his vehicle. An ambulance was called to the scene.

As we learned, the duty officer first received information that a man who might be under the influence of alcohol was driving toward Bolesławiec. A police patrol was immediately sent out. When the officers spotted the car, they signaled the driver to stop. The driver began to flee. The officers pursued him. They caught up with him in the Kwiatowe housing estate in Bolesławiec. The officer then smashed a window to reach the driver. The driver suddenly took off, hit the officer, carried him several meters on the hood and fled again. The police officer's injuries were not serious enough to prevent him and his colleague from pursuing the driver again. They caught up with him on Ptasia Street.

It turned out that a 40-year-old resident of Dobra was behind the wheel. He was drunk and had 1 per mille of alcohol in his system.
