Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec arrested those responsible for the thefts. (In connection with earlier thefts on the premises of the former plant, the officers had been conducting special operational activities there).
Two thieves were caught red-handed—as they were unloading their loot. (Both, aged 17 and 32, are residents of Nowogrodziec municipality.) To make their haul as large as possible, the criminals arrived at the scene of the theft with a trailer.
The police determined that the two arrested men had another accomplice. The 32-year-old was arrested. Since he was wanted because he had been sentenced to a prison term, he went straight to prison.
The owner estimated the losses at PLN 18,000. All of the property was recovered. Theft is punishable by up to five years in prison.
