The incident occurred on June 20, at around 10 p.m., in one of the localities in Podgórzyn Commune. An argument broke out between two 19-year-olds at a public transport stop, as a result of which the suspect stabbed his peer with a knife. He fled after the incident. The injured man was taken to hospital.
After being notified of the knife attack, police officers began searching for the assailant. Based on the information gathered, they identified and then arrested the person suspected of the act.
The 19-year-old from Jelenia Góra County was taken into police custody. He was drunk at the time of his arrest. He had nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The aggressor may face a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
