Lubin criminal investigators spotted a man in the Przylesie housing estate whom they knew because he had numerous burglaries and thefts to his name. The teenager was walking while dragging a power generator behind him. When he noticed the uniformed officers, he quickened his pace, wanting to get as far into the estate as possible.

The officers checked the suspect’s identity. At first, the 17-year-old tried to convince the police officers that he had found the generator in question. Then he changed his story: he claimed that he had bought it from a man he did not know.

The truth, of course, turned out to be completely different: the generator had come from a garage burglary committed by... the 17-year-old.

What is more, the officers proved that the suspect had committed a further 13 burglaries and 6 thefts. (The teenager committed all the crimes between December and June. He robbed garages and cellars, taking, among other things, bicycles, tires, rims and power tools. The total losses were estimated at more than PLN 100,000).

The detainee admitted to all the charges and agreed to voluntarily accept the sentence proposed by the prosecutor. The teenager will spend two years and two months behind bars and will also have to compensate for the damage caused by his criminal activities.
