Police:
We appeal to parents and guardians to teach children from the earliest years how to avoid dangerous situations or how to get out of them when they occur. It is also important to develop in children the ability to say “no” and an attitude of limited trust toward strangers. Let us talk with children about situations they may encounter when they are alone at home, on the street or in the park. Let us teach children what to do when someone knocks on the door; what to say when the telephone rings; and how to behave when a stranger invites them into a car or offers them candy.
Let us talk with children about difficult and dangerous situations so that, when they occur, they will know how to deal with them.
