During the session of the Bolesławiec County Council held on Tuesday, May 29, a report on the state of security and public order in our county was presented by junior inspector Ryszard Podbucki, deputy head of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
Dariusz Borski’s first deputy mentioned, among other things, that the number of interventions by Bolesławiec police officers had increased. And since more and more people have mobile phones, the number of reports had also increased.
Unfortunately, these reports are not always justified. The deputy police chief informed the councillors that one caller notified the police that… “dogs were barking at swans.”
R. Podbucki also said that the number of detained “potential murderers”—that is, drunk drivers—had decreased. In 2017, officers caught 184 people who were driving under the influence. The year before, there were 47 more. However, according to the police officer, this is not necessarily a reason to celebrate, because some of the so-called potential murderers had probably simply switched to drugs.
We will return to this subject.
