The incident occurred overnight during the weekend at Carrefour. The store’s security guards apprehended a 39-year-old man from Bolesławiec who tried to steal two bottles of whisky and chocolates. The total value of the luxury-alcohol enthusiast’s would-be haul was nearly PLN 900.
The man was detained by the police. He could now face up to five years behind bars.
This is another case of its kind in the City of Ceramics. In April, we reported that the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters was conducting proceedings into the theft of alcohol that took place in one of Bolesławiec’s supermarkets. On February 16, the perpetrator stole a bottle of alcohol worth PLN 639. (Thanks to internet users, the suspect’s identity was established.)
