Jelenia Góra criminal investigators, acting on the basis of operational activities, arrested a 34-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra suspected of damaging property. They established that the man set fire to one of the buildings and burned a storage shed. Fortunately, in the first case, the fire resulted only in damage to the building’s facade. (The total losses were estimated at approximately PLN 20,000.)
The officers, notified by the victims about these crimes, began searching for the perpetrator. Based on the collected evidence, they identified a man suspected of the arson attacks. The 34-year-old was arrested.
The vandal confessed to both arson attacks. However, he was unable to provide a sensible explanation for why he had done it. (What is more, it emerged that the arrested man had already been recorded for this type of crime.)
The 34-year-old now faces up to five years in prison.
