Police officers from Warta Bolesławiecka received a report of a break-in at a loader’s fuel tank and the theft of 50 litres of fuel. A thorough analysis of the collected material made it possible to quickly identify the perpetrator, who turned out to be a 26-year-old man well known to the police. The suspect was arrested and charged with burglary.

A few days earlier, the man had stolen musical instruments in Bolesławiec Municipality, for which he has also been charged. (The recovered items were handed over to their owner.)

Moreover, over the past 2 months, the arrested man committed a series of other offences. Bolesławiec police officers proved that he had committed more than a dozen offences. The 26-year-old had broken into a residential building, storage rooms and construction containers.

What is more, the serial burglar stole the bicycle of an athlete who had come to Bolesławiec for an MTB competition. Thanks to the police’s immediate action, the property, worth 11,500, was recovered and the owner of the bicycle was able to take part in the race.

The second bicycle, worth 2,500 zlotys, was stolen by the suspect from the premises of the victim’s workplace. (The thief was arrested when he came to collect his loot.)

In addition, the suspect stole a set of alloy wheels with tyres on two occasions. In both cases, officers recovered the wheels and handed them over to the victims. It is also worth noting that the arrested man has numerous shoplifting offences on his record.

On the basis of the material collected by the police and following a motion by the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office, the court remanded the thief in custody for 3 months. The 26-year-old could now face up to 10 years behind bars.
