A report was received by the Lubin police station concerning the theft of windows from a single-family house under construction. A few days later, window frames were stolen from the same property.
Criminal investigators from the Lubin police worked on the case. Thanks to operational work, officers tracked down the perpetrator. He turned out to be a 22-year-old resident of Lubin.
The police determined that during the night of 2–3 May, the man removed windows worth approximately PLN 4,500. He had no way to transport them, so he asked a friend, a 28-year-old resident of Lubin, for help with transportation.
He then sold the windows to a 23-year-old resident of the Ścinawa municipality for... PLN 200. However, the goods were incomplete, so a few days later the 22-year-old returned to the scene of the crime and removed the frames.
The total losses were estimated at nearly PLN 7,000. The police recovered all of the stolen goods.
What is more, officers proved that the 22-year-old had committed three additional burglaries of cellars and had stolen a mobile phone from a car repair shop. (The phone was also returned to its owner.)
The burglar now faces up to 10 years in prison. The two receivers of stolen goods could spend as many as five years behind bars.
