Recently, we once again received a report of a burglary that occurred in Nowogrodziec Municipality. This time, the perpetrator entered the home of a female resident of Gierałtów through a partially open window. Does this mean that a gang of serial thieves is prowling the municipality?
As we managed to establish, several such incidents did in fact occur in Nowogrodziec Municipality in the spring. However, the criminals’ modus operandi was not consistent, so it cannot be unequivocally stated that the same person or persons were responsible. What is more, the items targeted by the burglars also varied. This likewise contradicts the theory that specialists in the thief’s trade had taken a liking to one of the municipalities in our county.
Officers from the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters are conducting operational activities in Nowogrodziec Municipality, as a result of which several suspects have already been detained, including three men who, unable to start a stolen car, towed it away, as well as a resident of Zgorzelec County who was wanted by the German justice system.
Unfortunately, burglars are also eagerly taking advantage of the fact that the weather has become warm and people sleep with their windows open or partially open. This makes the little thieves’ “work” easier.
