The duty officer at the Zgorzelec County Police Headquarters received a call from a woman who reported that her 34-year-old daughter had left home in the morning and that she had not been in contact with her since.

The duty service at the Zgorzelec police headquarters immediately began efforts to determine the whereabouts of the 34-year-old woman. Police officers from the district officers’ unit and the patrol and intervention unit were sent to the woman’s former address.

The officers who arrived at the scene knocked repeatedly on the apartment door, but no one opened it. Due to the threat to the woman’s life and health, a decision was made to force entry into the apartment. Using tools borrowed from neighbours, the police entered the premises and found the woman lying on the floor in one of the rooms. They immediately provided her with first aid and cared for her until the emergency services arrived.

The woman was taken to hospital. Thanks to the quick response of the Zgorzelec police officers, a tragedy was avoided.
