Police officers from the Legnica traffic unit, while patrolling Kwiatowa Street at around 11:15 p.m., stopped the driver of a Ford for inspection. The man’s driving suggested that he might be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It turned out that the 28-year-old was under the influence of amphetamine-group narcotics.
That same night, at 1:35 a.m., officers stopped an Opel driver on Korczaka Street. He was caught after suddenly accelerating when he saw the police car. It soon became clear why he had reacted that way. He was drunk; he had got behind the wheel with more than one per mille of alcohol in his breath.
The two irresponsible drivers could now face up to two years behind bars.
