What should you do if you lose your documents?

  • immediately reserve them in the DOKUMENTY ZASTRZEŻONE system—at your bank or at any bank that accepts reservations, including from people who are not its customers
  • notify the police (if they were lost as a result of theft)
  • notify the nearest municipal authority or consular office and obtain a new document. Information concerning the obligation to notify the municipal authority about the loss of a document can be found on the website of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
