The crime took place on the night of April 3–4 in Jelenia Góra. The men took advantage of the owner’s absence and an ajar balcony door. They entered the apartment through it and robbed it.

The suspects stole property worth more than PLN 7,000. It included power tools, a television, an induction hob, a carpet and other items. The equipment was new; the victim had only just begun furnishing the new apartment.

The two 30-year-old suspects were arrested several hours after the crime was reported. They were caught as they were leaving one of the pawnshops, where they intended to sell part of the loot.

Police recovered all the items stolen by the aforementioned pair. At the time of his arrest, one of the thieves was wearing the victim’s sweater.

Both detainees, who were taken into police custody, now face up to five years in prison. One of the thieves will also be held responsible for possessing drugs, which he hid from the officers in his mouth.
