A video was sent to the Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski showing a group of preschool children wearing reflective vests. Together with their caregivers, they stop before a pedestrian crossing in Lwówek Śląski and then cross the road at the designated striped crossing.
While the group of children is one-third of the way across the road, a VW Golf drives along it. The driver does not stop or yield to the pedestrians on the crossing.
All traffic and prevention patrols in the area were immediately informed about the report and the video. Shortly afterwards, one of them notified the duty officer that they had stopped the vehicle seen in the video for inspection. It turned out that the Golf was being driven by a 68-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. The woman confirmed that she had been behind the wheel of the vehicle shown in the video.
The 68-year-old lost her driving licence. She will answer for her actions before the court.
