On 22 March, at around 11:15 a.m., the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra was notified of a theft that had taken place in one of the apartments in Jelenia Góra. According to the reporting parties, the theft had been committed by their 20-year-old son. He stole a handbag containing payment cards, documents and money.
Police officers who went to the scene noticed the suspect in the gateway of another building on the same street. (They knew him because they had previously intervened in matters involving him.)
The 20-year-old was arrested. He indicated where he had hidden the documents and payment cards. The officers also recovered some of the cash.
The young man could now face up to five years in prison.
