A resident of Nowogrodziec called our editorial office and informed us that several burglaries had recently taken place in the town. The burglars operate under cover of night. They carry out their trade so professionally that they manage to escape with the loot without waking any of the household members. There was even a rumor that they use holes drilled in the walls to pump in sleeping gas.
Apparently, panic prevails among the residents of Nowogrodziec. As our Reader added, people are simply afraid.
The police are reassuring residents and stating that there is no spate of burglaries in Nowogrodziec. Indeed, several such crimes have recently occurred there, but their frequency is no greater than in other municipalities in our county. Therefore, it is not possible to speak of a crime wave or serial burglars. What is more, the officers also deny the rumors that the perpetrators have been incapacitating people with gas.
