District police officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters detained a 39-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County who, several days earlier, had stolen a coin-operated machine together with its coin container from a toilet at the PKS bus station. The perpetrator stole no more than PLN 50.
The officers assigned to the case went to the scene and, after making a few inquiries, identified the perpetrator as a 39-year-old resident of our county. Interestingly, the man was staying near the bus station, which meant that his arrest was merely a formality.
The suspect said that he had abandoned the machine on one of the nearby allotments. The police found and secured the stolen property, worth approximately PLN 3,000.
The perpetrator, who had previously been convicted of similar offences, pleaded guilty but refused to provide an explanation. He could now face up to five years in prison.
