On 14 March, the police duty officer received an emergency report of an accident near the intersection of National Road No. 30 and Kolejowa Street in Gryfów Śląski. A police patrol went to the scene using its emergency warning signals.
It turned out that a resident of Lwówek County, driving a Citroën from the direction of Jelenia Góra, was turning right into Kolejowa Street when she hit a 15-year-old girl who was correctly crossing at the pedestrian crossing.
The teenager had no visible bodily injuries; however, given the nature of the incident and her age, she was immediately transported to a hospital in Jelenia Góra.
The 65-year-old driver was sober. Her driving licence was confiscated. Police are appealing for caution.
