The incident occurred on March 10, after 9:00 p.m. The duty officer at the Lubin police station received a report of a road accident in Obora. The driver of a Volkswagen van lost control of the vehicle, crashed into an energy-absorbing barrier, and then into a property fence.
Officers detained the driver. The 29-year-old resident of Rudna municipality was completely drunk. A test showed nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The driver's license was also confiscated. He could now face up to two years behind bars.
