Lubin criminal investigators identified and detained a 28-year-old man from Lubin suspected of raising a false bomb alarm at a shopping centre. The incident occurred on 20 February. The perpetrator, who was unknown at the time, informed a WCPR employee that there was a bomb in the shopping centre.

The building was thoroughly checked by officers from the explosives and bomb-disposal unit of the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. No dangerous materials were found.

The 28-year-old “joker” was detained. He explained that he had called the WCPR number because he was bored.

The suspect now faces up to eight years in prison.
