Late in the evening of February 24–25, Bolesławiec community police officers took immediate action after receiving information that a 32-year-old man wanted to commit suicide. Their good knowledge of the area enabled them to quickly identify the place where a person in need of help might be located. In a small woodland, 150 metres from his place of residence, the officers found the man with bloodied forearms lying on the ground in temperatures of 10 degrees below zero. The 32-year-old was hypothermic, and contact with him was already difficult. Thanks to the community police officers’ swift efforts, the man did not suffer any harm due to the low temperatures.
