As we read on the website of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office, changing street names “is an action based on the law prohibiting the promotion of communism or another totalitarian system through the names of organizational units, auxiliary units of a municipality, structures, public-utility facilities and equipment, and monuments.”
This time, voivode Paweł Hreniak decommunized II Armii Wojska Polskiego Street in Bolesławiec. It will be named after General August Emil Fieldorf “Nil”.
A good choice? What do you think about the decommunization of street names?
