Police officers from the prevention department, while patrolling a parking lot at one of the supermarkets in Zgorzelec, noticed a man behaving suspiciously. It soon emerged that the 30-year-old was using shopping carts to transport barrels of fuel, which he hid in his car.
As it turned out, the fuel had been siphoned from the tank of one of the trucks parked in the aforementioned lot. The truck driver… was asleep. He did not even realize that someone was stealing his fuel.
The 30-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County, who stole 250 litres of diesel fuel worth nearly PLN 1,050, was arrested. He could now face up to eight years in prison.
