A Volvo car worth—remarkably—PLN 310,000 was stolen in Germany on the night of 12–13 February. Several hours after the crime, officers from the Lower Silesian-Saxon Nysa group received information that the vehicle was travelling on roads in Zgorzelec County and heading west.

Officers stopped the stolen car and its driver on the bridge on Zgorzelecka Street in Bolesławiec.

The vehicle was driven by a 26-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County. The car contained a device for jamming GPS signals, while the original registration plates were behind the passenger seat.

The recovered Volvo was handed over to its owner. The 26-year-old man was detained and taken to the Zgorzelec police headquarters. The suspect has already been charged with handling stolen property of considerable value.

The resident of Zgorzelec County could now face up to 10 years in prison.
