Zgorzelec police officers noticed two men behaving suspiciously near one of the cars. They decided to check it out. It turned out that neither suspect was wanted, and the vehicle had not been reported stolen.
One of the men tried to convince the officers that the Ford Focus was a gift from his grandfather. The officers did not believe him, especially since the 25-year-old was not carrying the vehicle documents. What is more, the key he had put in the ignition could not be removed from it.
The police established who the actual owner of the Ford was. When he arrived at the scene, he was astonished; he knew neither his alleged grandson nor his friend.
The 25-year-old was detained. He could now face up to ten years in prison.
