The incident occurred on February 3 in Jelenia Góra. At around 3:00 p.m., the victim realized that her wallet was missing and notified the police about the theft. The wallet contained, among other things, a payment card and documents.
The woman suspected her friend, with whom she had been attending classes at one of the schools in Jelenia Góra, of the theft.
Several minutes later, officers noticed a young woman whose description matched that of the suspect. The 19-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County was detained. She confessed. It emerged that immediately after the theft, she had twice paid for purchases with someone else’s card.
The thief threw the wallet containing the documents into a bin. Officers recovered the stolen property. The 19-year-old now faces up to 10 years in prison.
