The incident occurred on Monday, February 5, on II Armii Wojska Polskiego Street in Bolesławiec, in a single-family home where a man was overcome by fumes on New Year’s Day. Three Bolesławiec residents decided to exploit the tragedy and rob the burned-out house, which has been unoccupied since the New Year’s accident.

A neighbor of the man who was overcome by fumes during the fire received a phone call saying that three men had left the aforementioned house carrying travel bags. She immediately notified the police.

As it turned out, the trio of burglars—all Bolesławiec residents aged 31, 34 and 37—went to a bus stop after committing the crime as if nothing had happened. The thieves waited there for a bus.

Someone informed the MZK bus driver about the situation. The driver stopped at the bus stop and delayed the vehicle’s departure so that the police could reach the scene in time.

The thieves, who had previously come into conflict with the law, stole, among other things, a large quantity of work gloves, binoculars and industrial supplies. The losses were estimated at PLN 3,000. All three were detained. The burglars now face up to 10 years in prison.

We will return to the subject.
